School and college trips - sample weekly itinerary:
Fly to Agadir or Marrakech where our luxury coach or mini-bus (depending on group size) will meet you at the airport and transfer you in comfort to our purpose-built, spacious and comfortable surf camp in the coastal village of Tamraght, near Agadir.
After a hearty breakfast and an orientation briefing, you will be kitted out with wetsuits and boards and taken to the most appropriate beach in our own transport for surf lessons with our qualified instructors. After lunch you will continue with supervised free surf time in the afternoon. In the evening you can relax back at the camp and enjoy a hearty dinner cooked by our wonderful Moroccan chef, Mo, who can also cater for any special dietary requirements by prior arrangement. If Day 2 coincides with a Sunday, from September 2014 you can also take part in a Moroccan cookery class and enjoy a free Sunday dinner.
Day three comprises another fun-filled day at the beach with surfing sessions morning and supervised free surf time in the afternoon to build on the lessons learned on day two. In the evenings, as well as a sumptuous dinner, you can relax around the camp with DVDs, free wi-fi and table tennis on our terrace.
On day 4 we will mix it up a little. After breakfast we head out to the mountains and the beautiful Paradise Valley for a fun day exploring miraculous waterfalls and jumping into crystal clear plunge pools. On the way back to the camp we take an interesting and educational stop to see Argan Oil being produced by hand in the centuries old tradition of the region.
On day 5 you will be back in the water surfing. After resting those paddling muscles for a day, you will be looking forward to pushing yourself into your own waves. After a filling lunch at the beach we take a trip out to the local souk where students can enjoy the heady smells, unusual sights and evocative sounds of a traditional Moroccan market. This is a great opportunity to purchase souvenirs and haggling is a must!
Students will be able to spend the day enjoying their last surf lessons and seeing if they can ride some of those elusive green waves. In the evening you can watch a traditional Moroccan meal being prepared with a cooking demonstration from Mo, before relaxing and swapping stories over a final fabulous dinner with the group.
In the morning it is time to pack up and say good bye to your new Moroccan family! Your coach will be waiting at the camp to take you back to the airport for your journey home.
All equipment provided.
As well as recommended excursions to the souk and Paradise Valley, we are happy to build in extra cultural/activity/experiential excursions to enhance your trip. Other popular excursions include a visit to a Hammam (traditional Moroccan steam room with massage), a visit to the nearby water park, and camel or horse riding on the beach. In the camp, we will also be running FREE Moroccan Cookery Classes from September 2014. Please just ask about the options available.
Depending on the surfing ability of your group, students will be split into surf lessons for beginners and surf guiding for those who can already surf to the necessary standard (see table here).
Beginners will be introduced to surfing by one of our experienced and qualified instructors. We believe in teaching proper form and technique, in a fun and understanding atmosphere, to give you a solid surfing foundation to build upon. You will also receive a grounding in water safety, ocean awareness, surfing etiquette and wave conditions whilst riding gentle waves in warm Moroccan waters.
Intermediates and advanced surfers will be escorted by our guides to the best surf spots depending on their ability and the prevalent surf conditions.
For your convenience we have a large range of surfboards (hard and soft) and warm, comfortable wetsuits. All the equipment you need is provided and no experience is necessary.
An amazing trip with college students. Just got back from a week stay here with two other teachers and 26 college students. The students absolutely loved it from start to finish. The organisation ran like clockwork allowing us a relaxing stress free break. The freshly cooked food was delicious and universally liked by everyone and the rooms were of a high standard. Most of the students were beginners/intermediate and had lessons each day. The quality of the instruction was second to none and they were all riding green waves by the end of the week. We also had a day trip to Paradise Valley (amazing) and visited the local markets in Agadir. We are already planning next year's trip! If you are thinking of taking a group of students I would highly recommend Moroccan Surf Adventures.Richard P - Teacher from Richard Huish College. February 2013
The Moroccan surf adventures team have really got it dialed when it comes to group trips. Organising a crew of university students to spend a week in north Africa can be a stressful task at best, but as soon as we arrived we were eased into "Moroccan time." Everything was very relaxed and the crew were flexible to all our needs. Our group were mainly beginners, but by the end of the week they were all standing up, turning and super stoked... Plus I got one of the best waves I've ever had out at Boilers! The food was incredible and we were so well looked after that there were even tears at departure! Overall a great experience for everyone and a trip I'm sure I'll be running again.Dan Darkin - Dundee University Surf Club. January 2013
I had a big decision in bringing out a group of young British girls (British U/18 Surf Team) for a surf coaching week in Morocco. Denny and the guys absolutely nailed it. Great accommodation, clean, safe, relaxed. Excellent food. The most valuable asset though is probably the knowledge of Denny and the guides and how hooked up they are. There's a real sense that they are driven to make sure everyone staying there gets what they want out of the trip. We had several sessions with no other surfers and for sure I'll be bringing training groups back over. If you're planning on going to Morocco, it's a must.Joel Grey - Owner - Surf Solutions.
